The additional Netware prompt when a workstation is set to use the Netware client
The user is prevented with an additional Netware box after logging into the system via the standard Windows ctrl alt del method (see left). Even if the user attempts to provide information (for example in the preferred server field, see additional images below) they will not succeed in logging in and will get an error:

Netware not authenticated

Workaround

Instructing the user to click cancel will allow the Windows logon process to continue, giving the user access to the system.

Removal

To prevent Netware appearing on workstations you must remove the client from the network card's settings, protocols and clients list.

Removing netware's client from network card properties

  • Open Network connections
  • Right click the network connection (network card) in question (For example Local Area Connection) and select properties
