The registry editor allows access to the nuts and bolts of Windows' configuration and can cause significant damage if used incorrectly.

Open the Registry Editor

  1. Click start
  2. Click run
    1. If you don't have the run option, hold down the Windows key on your keyboard and press the r key.
  3. Type regedit
  4. Click OK
  5. The Windows Registry editor will open.
