WindowsGUI
From Jonsdocswiki
Microsoft's Windows operating system (OS) has had a graphical user interface (GUI) since its inception. The interface is WIMP (Windows, icons, menus, pointer) in principle and is an example of the easiest type of interface for a novice to use (rather than the command line interface, e.g. DOS or BASH).

Notification area
The notification area or "system tray" contains icons of programs that run in the background as utilities, services or applications that are told to minimise here rather than the task bar. Icons in this area often have right click menus specific to them (as opposed to the task bar where applications generally have a standard set of right click options).
Pointer
See #cursor.
