Moodle always presents the user profile page after logon

After logging into Moodle for the first time the user would be presented with the user profile screen. Unfortunately, certain circumstances can cause this screen to repeatedly present itself.
When a user changes their registered email address
If a user changes the email address registered to their account the edit user profile screen will present itself all the time the new email address is pending confirmation.
Fix
To fix this problem, simply confirm the email address. An administrator can do this if the user is unable to do so.
