Symptoms
Office 2007 configures itself (see image) every time it is loaded by a user (this doesn't affect administrators). This was observed under a mandatory profile.

The fix was obtained by changing the profile to be a standard roaming profile and then running office as an administrator. See the forum post.

Flash object error in Office
Some Power Point presentations from the Boardworks collection have embedded Adobe Flash activities.
Symptoms
When opening a presentation containing embedded Flash you may get the error:
Some controls on this presentation can't be activated. The might not be registered on this computer.
Fix
First, ensure you're not opening a presentation saved in a newer version of Office in an older version of the suite (See MSKB 813720). If you're opening a file that should load correctly in this version of Office then continue.
Flash is a third party application developed by Adobe so it would be wise to check their website for an upgrade.
- Check the Adobe website and download the latest version of Flash player
- Uninstall Adobe Flash Player using Add/Remove Programs
- Reboot
- Install the latest Adobe Flash player
- Re-open the presentation
- If you still get the error, uninstall Flash using this uninstaller
- Reboot
- Reinstall Flash
- Re-open the presentation
- If you still have problems try reading these forum posts

Autocorrect File problem
Symptoms
On opening Microsoft Word 2007, the user is presented with a message:
| Office 2007 autocorrect file error |
|
Your auto correct file \\server\home\user\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\MS02057.acl could not be saved
Note: Underlined parts (path the file) will be different on your systems. |
Fix
- Close all office programs.
- Browse to the file in question (e.g. \\server\home\user\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\MS02057.acl ).
- Right click the file.
- Click properties.
- Click the security tab.
- Ensure the user running office has read and write permissions on the file (modify permissions). If these permissions are missing, set them.
- You may need to make the user owner of the file, this should be the case anyway as this is the user's application data.
- Run Word again, the error should not returned.
