Across a domain via GPO
Rick Patterson has written a GPO ADM template covering Acrobat 9 and Reader 9. Importing the administrative template will give you options in both Computer and User areas.
As some of the settings in the ADM are not fully manageable by Group Policy you will need to unhide them:
- Edit your policy
- Right click Administrative templates
- From the view menu select choose Filtering...
- Untick the box Only show policy settings that can be fully managed
Obtain the ADM template from here

Printing issue
Symptoms
When trying to print the user receives a message like:
Before you can print or use functions such as page setup you must install a printer
even on computers with a printer installed.
Fix
- Ensure there is a printer
- Ensure the default printer is contactable (for example, if a network printer it must be accessible).
